Selsey Carers has a long history and now operates under the governance of Selsey Community Forum. Selsey Carers aims to meet the needs of carers, both young and old, living in Selsey and the wider Manhood Peninsula. It provides information, advice, training and support, as well as helping to reduce isolation and loneliness, promoting the interests of carers and assisting in the resolution of their problems. In particular, Selsey Carers keeps in regular touch with carers by telephone and also arranges social events and outings, some for carers on their own and others with their loved ones. Selsey Carers works in partnership with Carers Support West Sussex and Crossroads Care and is now based in the Selsey Care Shop at 121 High Street, Selsey. You can drop-in on Monday to Saturday from 9.30am to 4pm or contact them by telephone on 01243 201616 or by email.
Selsey Care Shop runs a programme of bereavement and other counselling services as well as various kinds of support and information sessions for carers and their loved ones.
Selsey Carers holds a Coffee Morning on the second Thursday of each month in the Methodist Church Hall from 10 to 11.30am -
an ideal opportunity for new carers to get to know more about the support they might need.
A carer is anyone who gives unpaid care to a family member or friend who, due to illness, disabilty, or ageing, cannot copy without their support.
