- we look out for those in need
Selsey Care Shop is an innovative project with a central presence in the town's High Street. It works with local community groups, churches, other charities, businesses and statutory organisations to arrange activities such
as befriending to combat loneliness and support through Selsey Carers to those who look after their friends or family members. As well as working to promote a dementia-friendly community and acting as the contact point
for Selsey Dementia Action Alliance, the shop also provides community information, particularly about the many clubs and voluntary groups that Selsey offers. A new venture, starting on 30th April 2019, will involve adult wellbeing services provided during the evenings at the Selsey Care Shop.

Selsey is a pleasant seaside town which attracts many retirees. Unfortunately, many lose their partners and find themsleves living alone, often far away from family and earlier friends. As a result, Selsey has an elderly population
with an increased risk of loneliness and social isolation.
If you know of someone who would benefit from being drawn more closely into the community, please tell us about them - we work closely with our local Community Warden and all referrals are treated in strictest confidence.
